Judith Louise
Reutter
Jul 21, 1946 — Feb 4, 2024
Livonia
Judith L. Reutter, 77 years old, was welcomed into the loving arms of her parents, Dick and Jean Selleck, on Sunday, February 4, 2024, after courageously battling ovarian cancer on and off for 4 years.
She had an idyllic childhood growing up in Detroit, Michigan. She spent many happy summers vacationing at Platt Lake and Lake Missaukee with her family and friends. She attended Cody High School and went on to study teaching at Wayne State University. Judy then gave birth to triplets and life got busy times three. By then, many memorable vacations were spent at the cottage in Rogers City. She worked as a teller at Manufacturer's/Comerica Bank for years.
Judy was artistic and crafty. She sewed, painted ceramics, and loved to watch QVC and Hallmark movies. She loved reading mostly anything, including the Harry Potter series. When her daughters were young, she painstakingly sewed clothing for each of their 3 sets of Sunshine Family dolls (including a tiny, fringed jacket for the dad (a tedious job if ever there was one)) and an extra set for their friend. Judy always picked out thoughtful gifts. She loved Christmas and always made sure that it was special. Judy was so proud of her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She attended as many of their events as she could. One of Judy's greatest legacies, besides her family, is that she was a fierce and loyal friend. Not surprisingly, many considered her to be their "best" friend. We are devastated that she is gone but so happy to have memories that we will treasure forever. She spent her last few days surrounded by a staggering number of family and friends.
We are so grateful to Angela Hospice for taking such incredible care of her during her last week, and to Corewell Hospital in Dearborn for the kindness that they showed. Please hug your loved ones and remember what the character Sirius Black says, "The ones who love us, never really leave us…"
Left to cherish Judy's memory are her daughters, Amy Kulmacz, Beth Mullen (Matt) and Kim McNabb (Scott); her grandchildren, Drew, Nick, Eric, Alex, Chris, Grace, Aidan, Meghan and Catie; her bonus grandchildren, Miranda (Jimmy) and Breanna (Ross); her bonus great grandchild, Remy; her siblings, Susan LaTorre (Fred), Ron Selleck (Carol) and Debbie Linzell (Sarge); cherished nieces and nephews, cousins and a plethora of friends.
The Reutter family will receive family and friends Thursday, February 8, 2 to 8 pm at the funeral home, where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30 am.
Donations may be directed to Angela Hospice to further honor Judy's life.
Please keep Judy and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
