Josephine, of Farmington Hills, formerly of Southfield, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed into eternal life on Thursday morning, December 22, 2022.  She was 95 years old.

Josephine was born February 3, 1927, in Detroit, to the late Stephen and Helen (Kanka) Racinski.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph J. Obidzinski, on March 7, 2002. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Stephen Racinski, Theresa Leho, Mary Racinski, Edmund Racinski, Helen Kulick, Celine Antonelli, Bernard Racinski, Veronica Nowak, John Racinski, and Agnes Racinski.

Surviving are her devoted son, Joseph (Michelle) Obidzinski of Livonia; her sister, Valerie Azzopardi; grandchildren, Joseph Obidzinski and Jennifer (Phil) Niehaus; and her great-grandson, Theo Niehaus.

The Obidzinski family will receive guests at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, downtown Farmington, on Wednesday, December 28, from 3-8 pm, with a 7 pm rosary.

Josephine's funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday morning, December 29, at 11:00 am (in state 10:30 am) at St. Gerald Catholic Church, 21300 Farmington Road, Farmington.

A procession to Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum for entombment will immediately follow mass.

Memorial tributes are suggested to Promedica Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association .
