Joseph M. Maria, aged 88, gracefully departed from this life Monday, May 13, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, love, and cherished connections.
Joseph was born September 4, 1935, in Watertown, Massachusetts, the son of Vincenzo and Yolanda (Cioffi) Maria. He married Marjorie Jean Mercer and enjoyed over 53 years of marriage before her passing on December 6, 2012.
As the past President of Wall Colmonoy, Joseph's leadership and dedication left an indelible mark on the company and those he worked alongside. His commitment to excellence set a standard of excellence that inspired others to strive for greatness.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Joseph was beloved by all who knew him. Known for his warmth, kindness, and genuine affection for others, he had a rare gift for making everyone feel valued and appreciated. His infectious spirit of love and acceptance endeared him to countless hearts, and his memory will be forever cherished by those whose lives he touched.
Joseph was a true family man, finding his greatest joy and fulfillment in the love and companionship of his loved ones. His devotion to family, religion, and friends was unwavering, and he nurtured these bonds with care and devotion throughout his life.
Joseph is survived by his daughters, Linda and Laurie; sister, Chris Bellis; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephew. Sadly, Jospeh was also preceded in death by his brother, Vincent Maria and sister, Norma Ciccarelli.
The Maria family will receive guests at the funeral home on Friday, May 17, from 2-8 pm, with a 7 pm Rosary.
The funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 18, at 10 am (in state 9:30 am) at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23615 Power Road, Farmington.
Entombment will follow at Oakland Hills Mausoleum in Novi.
Memorial tributes are suggested to the America Heart Association .
