John Haubner, age 83, of Brighton, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

John was born on March 12, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Charles and Elaine Haubner. On June 25, 2005, he married Christine Ann Butcher, with whom he shared many wonderful years.

John will be remembered as an exceptionally smart man with a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. He had a way of making people smile and enjoyed sharing laughter with those around him. Above all, John was loving and devoted to the people who mattered most in his life.

John took great pride in his work and genuinely enjoyed what he did. His intelligence, curiosity, and strong work ethic were qualities that served him well throughout his life.

John also had a special interest in meteorology and enjoyed following the weather, studying forecasts, and keeping an eye on changing conditions. It was an interest that reflected his naturally inquisitive mind and his desire to understand the world around him.

John is survived by his wife, Christine; children, Craig (Shana) Haubner, Mindy (Terry) Newmann and Charles (Sharon)  Haubner; grandchildren, Cassidy, Christa, Jessica and Josh; and siblings, Laurie and Lisa.  Sadly, John was preceded in death by his sister Marilynn.
