A dedicated Army Veteran, Jerry enlisted at a young age with the permission of his parents and went on to have a distinguished military career, retiring as a Colonel in 2020. He served as an Airborne Ranger Infantry Officer with multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as service in Kosovo, the first Gulf War, and the Cold War. Jerry held multiple master's degrees in manufacturing, engineering, business administration, and strategic studies. As an accomplished business executive, he worked in aerospace and contract manufacturing, including projects involving robotics for the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and foreign military sales. He was a respected consultant in the quality control field, including serving as Vice President of Quality at Alcoa, Inc. He was a frequent commentator on military and policy issues, appearing on podcasts and news programs, such as "Policy With Other Means" and CBS News Detroit.
