Obituary

Jeff, a loving and caring husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Monday afternoon, May 27, at Trinity Health Livonia Hospital, following a brief five-day illness.  He was 66 years old.  His sudden departure has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his legacy of love, laughter, and strength will continue to inspire those he left behind.

Jeff was born March 4, 1958, in Detroit, to the late Donald and Betty (Bostrom) Dorsch.  He was a 1976 Farmington High School graduate and was a talented machinist his whole life.  He most recently was the plant manager for Moeller Aerospace, a Wixom-based producer of aerospace technology and complex precision components for whom he worked for over 23 years.

Jeff was renowned for his incredible sense of humor, bringing joy and laughter to every room he entered. His funny and light-hearted nature made him a cherished companion to his family and friends, leaving behind countless memories filled with smiles and laughter.

A hardworking and strong-willed individual, Jeff approached life with determination and a can-do attitude. His passions included golfing, bowling, tennis, and ping pong, where he excelled with skill and enthusiasm. Known as a pool shark and a euchre tournament winner, Jeff's competitive spirit and love for games brought excitement and camaraderie to all who played with him.

Sunday breakfasts were a special tradition for Jeff, where he relished the simple pleasures of good food and great company. A devoted Detroit sports fan, he found joy in supporting his teams, and was particularly proud of the recent successes of the Detroit Lions.

Above all, Jeff was an amazing husband and dad, dedicating himself wholeheartedly to his family. His love, support, and guidance shaped the lives of his children, leaving them with a legacy of strength, humor, and unconditional love.

Though Jeff has left this earthly realm, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His laughter, strength, and love will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of sharing in his life.

Surviving Jeff are his beloved wife of 24 years, Tina; cherished children, Eric (Erin) Dorsch, Sean Dorsch, and Samantha (fiancé Kyle Rea) Dorsch; two step-children, Candace (Michael Edwards) Chappell and Stephen Chappell; siblings, Deborah Ray, Dennis (Carol) Dorsch, and Janis (Mark) MacDonald; eight nieces and nephews, and a host of colleagues and friends.

Family and friends may gather at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, downtown Farmington, for visitation on Sunday, June 2, from 2-6 pm.  A funeral ceremony honoring Jeff's life will commence at 6:00 pm.

Memorial contributions to the charity of one's choice are appreciated.

Jeff will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and light he brought into the world.
