Jeanette Rita Bickham, age 95, passed away on August, 20, 2022, peacefully with her loving family her side.
Jeanette was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 9, 1927, to the late Charles and Mary (Beste) Lawrence.
Jeanette attended St. Charles High School and graduated in 1945. She worked as an elevator operator at Kerns Department Store where she met the love of her life, Bob Bickham. Jeanette and Bob were married on August 6, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan. From this unity four beloved children were born.
Jeanette was known for being a loving woman with a nurturing heart. She spent much of her time teaching her children and grandchildren to be adventurous, smart, and successful people. She was involved at St. Edith Parish Community as a catechism teacher, and a Eucharistic Minister. She was very active, playing tennis well into her seventies, and enjoyed playing bridge at the Livonia Senior Center.
Jeanette is survived by her dearest children, Larry (Janeane) Bickham, Jim (Debbie) Bickham, Barbara (Randy) Otto, and Roberta (Matthew) Goyt; precious grandchildren, Rebecca, Cindy, Jason, Adam, Theresa, Erin, Karl, Paul, Joe, Ryan, and Jordan ; and loved great-grandchildren, Julia, Jack, Allison, Courtney, Nathan, Jay, Katelyn, Emily, Xavier, Sonja, Xander, Landon, and Preston.
Sadly, Jeanette was preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy Williams, Eddie Lawrence, Bob Lawrence, Kathleen Lawrence, and Ray Lawrence.
"To my beloved husband, Bob, I have come to be with you. All these years that you have been gone, I have missed you but now I am in your arms."
The Bickham family will receive guests Wednesday, August 24, 2- 8 pm at the funeral home.
A funeral Mass will be Thursday, August 25, 10 am (in state 9:30 am), St. Colette Catholic Church, 17600 Newburgh Rd, Livonia.
Immediately following Mass, a luncheon is being held at St. Colette Catholic Church to further honor Jeanette's life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jeanette's name to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. If you would still like to send flowers please do not send flowers with lilies.
