Jean Marie Chinn passed away peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the age of 98.

Jean was born on May 18, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan, to Clarence J. and Arminta Louise McQueen. She was the beloved older sister of Joan Rae Wilson.

Jean grew up in Detroit and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in Adrian, Michigan. She later earned her bachelor's degree in medical technology from Mercy College in Detroit and worked as a medical technician at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and Sparrow Hospitals.

On June 22, 1957, Jean married the love of her life, F. Kenneth "Ken" Chinn, at St. John Berchmans Church in Detroit. Together, they made their home in Farmington Hills, where they raised their four sons. A devoted Catholic, Jean was a longtime member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. She was active with the Ladies of Charity and attended Bible study at Duns Scotus Friary. Jean loved dancing, gardening, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving sons, Christopher (Terry), Steven (Ann), Mitch (Christine), and Marty Chinn; cherished grandchildren, Nick Chinn, Kelsey Folmar (Tim), Eric Hutchinn (Kelly), Alina Chinn (Zach Spern), Ryan Chinn, Megan Chinn, Quinton Chinn, Brody Chinn, and Syd Chinn; and three great-grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ken; her parents; and her sister, Joan.

Funeral services will be held at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home on Monday, June 1, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Private interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan or St. Vincent de Paul Detroit.
