Jane Che-Yeng
Ho
Mar 6, 1936 — Jul 25, 2025
Farmington Hills
Jane Che-Yeng Ho, age 89, passed away peacefully Friday, July 25, 2025.
Che-Yeng (Chung) Ho was born on March 6, 1934, in Shanghai, China. Her early years were marked by hardship as the Sino-Japanese War forced her family into a life of uncertainty. During these difficult times, she was raised by her paternal grandmother and lived in an orphanage established by Madame Chiang Kai-shek. Despite hunger, illness, and the constant upheaval of war, Che-Yeng persevered with quiet strength and determination.
After the war, she lived with her family in Nanjing and later in Hong Kong before settling in Taiwan. Driven by a desire to care for others and make up for lost educational opportunities, she attended the Taiwan Provincial Nurse Midwife School then began a career in nursing, serving in hospitals and clinics in Taiwan.
On January 24, 1959, Che-Yeng met Frank Ho. Exactly one year later, they were married. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and service. They were blessed with three sons: Peter, John, and Daniel.
In 1972, seeking greater opportunities for their children, Che-Yeng bravely immigrated to the United States alone. Her family was able to join her a year later. They made their permanent home in Farmington Hills, Michigan with support and love from her sister and brother-in-law Che and San Yuan.
A third-generation Christian on both sides of her family, Che-Yeng's faith was the foundation of her life. From the mid-1980s, she was an active member of the Chinese Gospel Church of Livonia. Always carrying gospel tracts in her purse, she shared the message of Jesus with passion and compassion wherever she went. Alongside Frank, she offered warm hospitality, opening her home to many.
Che-Yeng was a devoted mother and grandmother, deeply involved in the lives of her seven grandchildren. She nurtured each of them with love, wisdom, and time, leaving behind a lasting legacy of faith and family.
She is deeply missed by her sons and their wives, her grandchildren, extended family, and many cherished friends. Though her earthly presence is gone, her spiritual legacy lives on in the lives she touched.
Today, we take comfort in knowing that Che-Yeng is with her Heavenly Father, her beloved husband Frank, her sisters and brother, parents, grandparents, and all those who went before her. We rejoice in knowing that she is hearing these words: "Well done, good and faithful servant."
She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Frank. Loving mother of Peter (Stephanie), John (Jen), and Daniel (Joanna Shih); adoring grandmother of Faith, Ann, Caleb, Hannah, Elizabeth, Grace, and Joshua.
Her family will receive friends Sunday, August 3, 4-6 pm at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be Monday, August 4, 11 am (in state 10 am), Chinese Gospel Church, 35301 Five Mile Rd, Livonia.
A funeral procession will take Jane to her final resting place next to her husband, Frank at Parkview Memorial Cemetery, Livonia.
Please keep the Ho family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
