Jami Magee
Ovares
Jul 21, 1967 — Feb 20, 2026
Evart
Born on July 21, 1967, in Southfield, Jami Magee Ovares was the beloved daughter of the late William and late Evelyn Magee.
On February 1, 2010, in Toledo, Ohio, Jami married her true love, Mark, after meeting on a blind date through a mutual friend. From that first meeting grew a love rooted in faith, laughter, loyalty, and partnership. Together they built a life. Together they built a home entirely with their own hands, vision, and labor. Their marriage was not just part of her story — it was the foundation of so much she created.
Jami Magee Ovares passed away unexpectedly at home, her loving and generous heart having finally given all it could. Though the loss is immeasurable, we rest in the peace of knowing she has been welcomed into the arms of her Savior — the very Lord she trusted and loved so fiercely.
Her final words shared were a prayer:
"Take my hand, Precious Lord, and take me home."
And we believe He did.
Jami didn't simply live — she restored, rebuilt, and redeemed. She could take something forgotten and turn it into something extraordinary. If it was art, she elevated it. If it was food, she perfected it. If it was a space, she transformed it into sanctuary. If it was a hurting heart, she strengthened it.
She was the proud owner of Artistic Flair and Design in Milford, where her artistic spirit flourished. Through her Facebook page, Jami's Treasures, she repurposed overlooked items into stunning pieces of beauty. She saw value where others saw scraps — and she proved that nothing was beyond redemption.
Her greatest physical masterpiece was the home she built alongside her husband, Mark. Together, they built the house entirely with their own hands — every beam, every wall, every detail a reflection of their teamwork, love, and shared dream. It wasn't just a house. It was the evidence of partnership, faith, and perseverance.
Walking through her door felt like exhaling. It became the family's favorite place to stay — because Jami's presence made it sacred. Warm. Safe. Welcoming.
Her faith was fierce and unshakable. She believed deeply in God. She prayed boldly. She stood strong through hardships that would have broken many. She was resilient. Steadfast. Fiercely loyal.
Jami was one of the hardest workers you would ever meet. Pizza and pasta from scratch. Projects finished with excellence. No shortcuts. No half effort. Her famous bean dip was legendary — a gathering wasn't complete without it.
She liked to fish. She loved dancing. Rock music and gospel music filled her home. She had a sharp sense of humor and a vibrant laugh. She could not stand to see someone hurting — if you were broken, she helped rebuild you.
Her grandchildren were one of her greatest joys. "Grandma's Daycare" was filled with crafts, laughter, dancing in the kitchen, homemade meals, and unconditional love.
And woven into everything she did was a phrase that defined her love:
"I love you forever and a day."
It wasn't casual. It was covenant.
And it still stands.
Heaven has welcomed home an artist, a protector, a warrior of faith, and a woman whose love knew no limits.
She built art.
She built meals.
She built people back up when life tore them down.
And with Mark, she built a house that became a refuge for everyone who entered it.
She will be deeply and forever missed.
But her legacy lives on — in every restored treasure, every shared meal, every grandchild's laugh, every prayer whispered in faith.
"I love you forever and a day."
And we will.
Jami is survived by her beloved husband, Mark Ovares; loving children, Josie Way, Kyle Way, Marissa, and Jesse (Andrea) Way; adored grandchildren, Isaac Hattie, Ryder Way, Morgan McGraw, Colton Case, Kadin Way, Liam Way, Sophia Johnson, Levi Powers, Jayden Powers, Keegan Stamp, and Pyerce Stamp; dear brothers, Jason Magee and Randy (Alicia) Magee. She is now joyfully reunited in heaven with her daughter, Amanda Way, and her brother, David Magee.
