James Edwin
Mansuy
Jan 20, 1955 — Sep 18, 2023
Redford
James E. Mansuy, "Jimmy", age 68, of Redford, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 18, 2023.
Jimmy was born January 20, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the late Edwin and late Marie (Trozak) Mansuy.
Jimmy, whose laughter could light up a room, was a man of many passions. He found solace in the great outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or motorcycles. The call of the open road and the thrill of the hunt were always close to his heart. Up north, surrounded by the beauty of nature, was where Jimmy felt most alive.
But perhaps one of the most endearing aspects of Jimmy's life was his unwavering devotion to his friends and family. He would go to great lengths to help anyone in need, always offering a helping hand and a warm smile. His heart was as big as his sense of humor, and he could turn even the gloomiest of days into a laughter-filled adventure.
Jimmy shared his home with an African grey parrot named Buddy, a feathery friend who had a knack for mimicking his infectious laughter. They were the dynamic duo, bringing double the joy to those around them.
Jimmy cherished his time with his nieces and nephews, creating precious memories that will forever be cherished. One epic canoe trip stands out, where Jimmy used a case of beer as an anchor, leaving everyone in stitches and ensuring that laughter echoed along the riverbanks.
Despite a lifelong battle with asthma that eventually turned into lung disease, Jimmy's spirit remained unbreakable. He faced each challenge with resilience and a grin, proving that a big heart could overcome any obstacle.
In quieter moments of the holidays, Jimmy could be found playing poker with the family, where his sharp wit and card-playing skills brought friends together for unforgettable evenings filled with camaraderie and laughter.
Jimmy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a big, loving heart that touched the lives of all who knew him. As we say our farewells, let us remember the countless smiles he brought into our lives and the warmth of his spirit that will forever linger in our hearts.
Jimmy is survived by his loving siblings, Jerry (Diane) Mansuy, Janice Grimes, Marlene (Jim) Graessle, and Karen (Brian) Richards; dearest nieces and nephews, Lynette (Brad) Willock, Eric (Shawna) Mansuy, Jason (Nikki) Mansuy, Lori (Mike) Hardy, James (Erica) Graessle, Danielle (Mike) Bourgon, Brian Grimes, and Julie (Bob) Schoenherr; dear great nieces and great nephews, Zoe, Erin, Sydni, Tyler, Lauren, Julian, Annika, Addison, Elaina, Sara, Max, Alex, and Ginny.
In lieu of flowers please make all donations to the SMA Foundation.
Please keep the Mansuy family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
