James
Gregor
Oct 11, 1954 — Oct 18, 2024
James "Jim" Gregor, of Brighton, beloved husband, brother, and friend, passed peacefully into eternal life on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the age of 70. Jim was born on October 11, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Norman Sr. and Ellenor (Freego) Gregor.
On June 18, 1990, Jim married the love of his life, Justine H. (Schroeder), in Las Vegas, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned over three decades. He graduated from Redford Union High School in 1972 and built a successful career as a regional sales manager with TruGreen Chemlawn before transitioning into a partnership with The Sullivan Corporation, a leading Midwest supplier of salt, deicers, and maintenance products. When Sullivan was acquired by Corrigan Oil in 2020, Jim continued to excel, serving as Vice President of Sales. Remarkably dedicated, he never fully retired and was actively working even from his hospital bed until a week before his passing.
Known for his charismatic personality, Jim was always a social and engaging conversationalist. His knowledge of his industry and products was unparalleled, and his willingness to help others extended even to strangers. Beyond his professional life, Jim was a passionate golfer and a keen collector of antiques. He found joy in the simple things, whether it was a perfect round on the golf course or watching his beloved Justine ride her horse.
In addition to his beloved wife, Justine, Jim is survived by sisters, Ellen (the late Vincent) Simonetti, Joyce (the late Marc) Grace, and Karen (Steve) Durbin. He was preceded in death by a brother, Norman (Donna) Gregor Jr., and a sister, Susan Gregor.
Family and friends may gather for visitation at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in downtown Farmington on Wednesday, October 23, from 3-7 pm.
Jim's funeral ceremony is planned for Thursday morning, October 24, at 10:30 am, also at Heeney-Sundquist.
Those who wish to further honor Jim's memory may do by means of a contribution to the American Cancer Society .
