Jack M. Hendrickson, age 101, passed away Friday, December 23, 2022.

Jack was born October 11, 1921, in Detroit, the son of Eric and Anna (Anderson) Hendrickson.

Jack served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Shields DD-596 during WW II.  He married Elizabeth Lindberg on May 9, 1953, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Detroit.  Sadly, she preceded him in death on June 15, 2016.  A devoted family man, Jack enjoyed being a part of his children's families as he watched them grow.  He was an active member of the Lutheran church.  He spread his love to include the Donald Street neighborhood kids and had close relationships to many of his nephews and nieces.  He enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing golf, bridge and pinochle especially with his friends from the Henry Ford Trade school alumni association.  He was a member of the Swedish Club of SE Michigan.  His was a life well lived.

Surviving are his children, Mark (Patty) Hendrickson, Pamela (James) Blanchard, and Judith (John) Dwan; grandchildren, John (Katie) Dwan, Christie (Andrew) Fromm, Joan (George) Shorter, Jennifer (Adam) Edwards, Ross Blanchard, Eric (LeeAnne) Hendrickson, Emily (Matt) Barry, and Claire (Thomas) Schuster; 16 great-grandchildren; and brother, George (Carole) Hendrickson.  In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, Jack was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Emily Hendrickson.

The Hendrickson family will receive guests on Friday, January 20, 2023, from 4-8 pm, and Saturday, January 21, 2023, 9 am until the 1 pm memorial service.  A luncheon will follow the service at a venue to be announced.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial tributes are suggested to Community Living Centers .
