Irvin Wilkinson, of Southfield, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026. He was 90 years old.

Irvin was born on November 26, 1935, in Detroit, the son of the late Ken and Marie (Urban) Wilkinson. The youngest of eleven children, Irvin grew up surrounded by a large family, and he was the last surviving member of his siblings.

A proud veteran, Irvin served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War era. Throughout his life, he remained a simple and steady man who found joy in the things that mattered most: time spent with family and friends, working in his garden, and enjoying the quiet blessings of home and companionship.

Irvin was the devoted father of Carl Wilkinson and his wife, Christina; cherished grandfather of Andrew and Riley; and loving father of the late Jeffrey Wilkinson, who preceded him in death in 1978.

His family will gather privately for his interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.

Memorial contributions in Irvin's name are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
