Ian K. Hume, age 65, of Milan, passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 20, 2022, at his home.

He was born in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada, February 9, 1957, the son of the late Norma J. and Keith G. Hume.

Ian worked with passion as Equipment manager for U of M hockey where he made forever friends with his beloved players and staff.

He began his career in his hometown of St. Thomas, ONT, Canada, as a youth head coach.  His coaching connections took him to the Jr. "B" level of hockey in Canada, with the St. Thomas Jr team, first, as an assistant trainer, co-Trainer and then as a scout and Statistician.  After his time in St Thomas, he worked as a head scout and recruiting director for the London Jr "B" Hockey Club.

Being a sports enthusiast, Ian was involved with many sports, He coached and played slow pitch softball, refereed for basketball, he was a trainer for St. Thomas Stars. Ian was also very involved with the St. Thomas Sports Spectacular helping to raise money for the Special Olympics.

Ian attended the Canadian Institute of Business and earned a Diploma in Accounting before attending U of M, where he studied business administration.

Ian is the loving husband of Sarah L. Hume, "Jackie"; beloved stepfather of Noel Snyder, Jay Snyder and Glen Snyder (Kara); cherished grandfather of Adrian and Kalen. Sadly, he is preceded in death by his brother and sister.

The Hume family will greet guests at the funeral home Saturday, October 29, 2-6 pm and Sunday, October 30, 11am-3 pm.  A funeral service celebrating Ian's life will be Sunday, October 30, 3 pm at the funeral home.

The burial committal service will be at Marble Park Cemetery in Milan, Tuesday, November 1, 2 pm.
