Gerald E. Maxey, age 84, of Farmington Hills, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, just four days before his 85th birthday.

Gerald was born July 18, 1941, in Detroit, the son of Ernest and Mildred (Penny) Maxey.  He married Dolores Marie Kopke on June 15, 1963, and had recently celebrated their 63rd anniversary.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Dolores; children, Christine (Thomas) Zoltowski and Keith (Karen) Maxey; grandchildren, Thomas (Kristin) Zoltowski, Zachary (Allison) Zoltowski and Alexander Zoltowski; great grandchildren, Brooks and Charlotte Zoltowski.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 1, 2026, 11 am (gathering beginning at 10:30 am) at St. Gerald Catholic Church, 21300 Farmington Road, Farmington.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the Arbor Day Foundation .
