Frances A. Smutek, age 95, passed away peacefully, February 16, 2023 in New Boston, MI.

Frances was born in Detroit, MI, March 6, 1927, the daughter of the late Maria and Santino Pietrobono.  She was a devoted Catholic who loved God above all.   She strived to express her faith by going about her life in a quiet, humble way.  Frances was married for 52 years, raised four children and took great joy in her role as homemaker.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, baking, and classical music.  She was kind and respectful to all, and from her you would never hear a harsh word.

Frances is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Stanley.

Frances is the loving mother of Louis (Anna), Thomas (Susan), Jane and Mary Ferrini (Paul); beloved grandmother of Christina, Andrew, Michelina and Mario; cherished great grandmother of Eli; dearest sister of Rose DiCicco and Clementine Macing.

The Smutek family will receive friends Monday, February 20, 2-8 pm at the funeral home with a rosary at 7 pm.

A funeral Mass celebrating Frances' life will be Tuesday, February 21, 11 am (in state 10 am), St Joseph Shrine, 1828 Jay St, Detroit, MI 48207.

Her family suggests making donations to any of the following charities: St. Joseph Shrine Historical Renewal , EWTN (Catholic Radio) or St Jude Childrens Hospital .
