F. Jose Engel, age 93, of Farmington Hills, passed away peacefully, Friday, June 23, 2023 at Brookdale Farmington Hills.

Jose was born in Orange, NJ, November 15, 1929, the daughter of the late Josephine and George Engel.

She was a smart and caring person.  Jose was the Valedictorian of her high school class.  She graduated from both the University of Michigan and Michigan State University.  Jose was a middle school math teacher her whole life in the NW suburbs of Detroit and enjoyed displaying her math skills beyond retirement.  As late as 90 years old she was actively timing junior high school students in track and field events.

Jose is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Gene (Kathryn).

She is the loving aunt of Maree Jo, Nancy, Burton, Arthur, Charles and Lawrence and a great aunt to many nieces and nephews; fond sister in law of Sally Engel.

The Engel family will receive guests Monday, July 3, 1-2:30 pm at the funeral home.

Her family will celebrate her memory with a time of sharing at 2:30 pm and hopes all guests will have stories of Jose to share with them.

Jose will be laid to rest in West Branch, MI at Brookside Cemetery in a private ceremony.
