Evelyn S. Mayer, age 97, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Fairmont Senior Living of Farmington Hills.

Evelyn was born May 29, 1927, in Detroit, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Stiefel) Dienes.  She married Wendell Thomas Mayer on September 13, 1947, at Atonement Lutheran Church in Detroit, and enjoyed 55 years of marriage until his passing on August 24, 2003.

Evelyn was employed as a bookkeeper for several years with Associated General Contractors and Kitchen Masters.

Beloved mother of Sandra  Griffard (Tom Glaser), Dennis Mayer and Brian Mayer (Deborah); cherished grandmother of Timothy Mayer and Robert Mayer (Allison); great grandmother of Margaret, Charles and Jack; aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.  Evelyn was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.

Evelyn's family will receive guests on Sunday, January 19, from 2-4 pm, with a 3 pm funeral service, at the funeral home.

Private interment will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.

I
