Elizabeth A. "Janet" Sobush, age 65, of Farmington Hills, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 12, 2023.

Janet was born September 14, 1957, at Providence Hospital, Southfield, the daughter of William and Frances (Kohler) Leadbetter.  She graduated from Farmington High School and spent over 20 years working for the Sisters of Mercy.

Janet was a remarkable individual with a wide range of talents and qualities. She was considered a wonderful entertainer with her excellent cooking skills and knack for throwing fantastic gatherings. Moreover, her passion for gardening and her green thumb showcased a deep connection with nature and a talent for nurturing plants.

A charismatic and friendly personality, Janet had the ability to effortlessly make friends and connect with others. Her sense of humor added to her charm and helped her build strong relationships with people from all walks of life. Her love for travel and exploration took her to diverse destinations, showcasing her adventurous spirit and curiosity about the world. From the wild landscapes of Alaska to the tropical beauty of Hawaii, and from the vibrant culture of Mexico to the sunny coasts of California, Florida, and the Outer Banks, Janet's travels embodied her diverse range of interests.

Janet's combination of creativity and organizational skills made Janet both a dreamer and a doer. She could come up with innovative ideas and execute them with precision.  Her highly organized household and other accomplishments in various areas of life demonstrated a determined and focused approach to achieving her goals.

Above all, Janet's role as a loving mother and grandmother showed her nurturing and caring nature. She was an inspiration to those around her, leaving a positive and lasting impact on everyone she encountered.  Her loss is immeasurable to those who loved her most.  May her kind and gentle soul rest in peace.

Janet was the beloved mother of Carmin (Michael) Shelton and Andrew (Samantha) Sobush; loving grandmother of Willem Shelton; and dear sister of Carol Rondeau, Alice Ford, and the late Thomas Leadbetter.
