Obituary

Elizabeth "Lisa" Bednar passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2025, due to complications from influenza. Lisa was born on September 27, 1966, in Detroit, Michigan, the beloved daughter of the late Charles Collins, and Mary Lou (Joseph) Funston.

Lisa grew up in a large, loving family with her siblings, Sheri, Fred, Paula, Denise (Larry), Chuck (Sue), Sue (John), Julie (Dennis), Joe (Julie) and Mark (Danayle). She was deeply saddened by the loss of her sister Paula but always maintained a big heart full of love and compassion.

Lisa was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Boris, with whom she shared a life centered around love and companionship. She selflessly cared for Boris and found joy in cooking healthy and delicious meals for him, a skill she mastered and shared with enthusiasm.

Her love extended beyond people to animals, especially her cherished dogs, Xena and Caesar, along with her beloved cats. Lisa adored their companionship, and they brought her endless joy and comfort. Her vibrant presence lit up any room she entered, and she was adored by all who knew her.

She was not just an incredible wife, sister, and friend—she was an amazing aunt and great-aunt who brought love and laughter into the lives of her nieces and nephews.

Lisa's sudden passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends, but her legacy of kindness, generosity, and strength will endure in the memories of those who loved her.

No services are planned at this time.
