Eleanor Ritchie

August 2, 1928-July 24, 2024

Born in Detroit, but called Fargo her home for over 50 years. After earning her PhD from Northwestern University, Eleanor became a Professor of Geography at the University of Detroit and continued her career, retiring from Moorhead State University.

Eleanor is predeceased by her beloved husband, Bill, her parents Peter and Stephanie, sisters Irene and Dolores as well as family and dear friends. She leaves behind her Detroit family and loyal friends and neighbors.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 10, 10 am (gathering 9:30 am), at St. Hugo of the Hills Catholic Church, 2215 Opdyke Rd., Bloomfield Hills.

Services at Holy Spirit Catholic Church will take place in late September.
