Eldon C. Dillon, 84, of Commerce Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Henry Ford Hospital West Bloomfield.
Eldon was born on August 25, 1940, in Detroit, to Ralph and Irene (O'Brien) Dillon. Eldon grew up with a strong sense of community and a love for laughter that he carried with him throughout his life.
Eldon married the love of his life, Carolyn Page, on November 24, 1962, at St. Alfred's Catholic Church in Taylor. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on family, friendship, and faith.
A hardworking man, Eldon enjoyed his career as a truck driver, with Coca-Cola and Brownberry Bread. His commitment to providing for his family was unwavering, and he found joy in the relationships he built along the way.
Eldon was an avid golfer, cherishing the camaraderie of his golf leagues and the many friends he made on the course. Known for his quick wit and playful sense of humor, he was a lifelong jokester who brought joy and laughter to everyone he met. Following his retirement, Eldon enjoyed spending winters in Florida and traveling abroad with Carolyn.
Service to others was a cornerstone of Eldon's life. From a young age, he was active in community and service organizations, including the Livonia Jaycees, Farmington Elks, Knights of Columbus, and Walled Lake Eagles.
Above all, Eldon loved and was immensely proud of his grandchildren, who brought him endless happiness. He also remained close with his classmates from the Bentley High School Class of 1958 in Livonia, treasuring the bonds they shared over the years.
Eldon is the beloved husband of 62 years to Carolyn; loving father of Sharon (Peter) DuBois and Klayton (Victoria) Dillon; cherished grandfather of Dillon (Kelsey) DuBois, Page DuBois, David Dillon and Kendall Dillon. Eldon was preceded in death by his two sisters, Deloris Sexton and Lois Ball.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday morning, December 27, 10 am (in state 9:30 am) at St. William Catholic Church, 531 Common St., Walled Lake.
