Dorothy Ann Hildebrandt (née Sullivan) passed away peacefully October 29, 2023. She was born May 25, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan to John and Rose Sullivan.

In high school she met Richard "Dick", the love of her life. They were married for 69 years. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Richard, daughter Mary Lou Schmid (Richard), son Richard III (Mary), and granddaughter Molly. She is survived by her daughters Susan Wenger (Marshall) and Karen Neal; her grandchildren Justin (Ying), Ryan (Paula), Kevin, Sara (Leo), Robert Jr., Richard IV (Carissa), Jennifer, Stephenson (Paige), Christopher, Adam; her great-grandchildren Justin Jr., Richard V, Parker, Leo, Nolan, Silas, Callan, Esmai.

Like many women of the time, Dorothy focused on caring for her and Dick's four children. Those four children eventually had a total of eleven children of their own. The eleven grandchildren now have a total of eight children of their own. Dorothy loved each of them. She celebrated their birthdays and waited for their stories and photos.

Dorothy also supported Dick in his growing career. First at Ford Motor Company in Detroit, then at Bendix, bringing them to Northeastern Ohio. She was able to accompany him as he traveled around the world.

A funeral Mass celebrating Dorothy's life will be Saturday, November 4, 10 am (in state 9:30 am), at the Church of the Transfiguration, 25225 Code Rd, Southfield, MI.

Immediately following mass a funeral procession will take Dorothy to her final place of rest, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, next to her husband Richard.

Please keep the Hildebrandt family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
