Dorothy E. Gorman, age 97, passed away June 7, 2022.  She was born December 7, 1924 in Detroit to Hubert and Velma Heikkila.  She grew up with one brother, Harold, who preceded her in death.

Dorothy grew up in Detroit and graduated from Pershing High School in 1941.  She was always proud of the fact that due to her academic excellence she was allowed to graduate early so she could start work for the Detroit Board of Education.  She later worked for Audette Cadillac in the Accounting Department until retiring at the age of 86.

She married Ronald Gorman in 1951 and raised three children; Kim (Laura) Gorman, Kurt (Linda) Gorman and Kristin (Paul) Kirila.  Ronald passed away in 1977 and her special friend Ed Bozek passed away in 2012.

Dorothy enjoyed many past-times with family and a wide range of never ending friends.  Hiking, camping, sailing, skiing, bridge club, dancing and plenty of travel.

She especially loved family and was affectionally called "Momma, Grams, GiGi and Gram Gram".  She was blessed with 5 grandchildren; Eric (Katina) Gorman, Heather (Dean) Pasquali, Hannah and Mitch Kirila and Chris Gorman.  She was doubly blessed with 5 great-grandchildren; Ariana, Gabriella, Luca Pasquali and Luke and Alyssa Gorman.  She also was loved by many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.

The Gorman family will receive guests on Monday, June 13th from 10 am until 1 pm, with a memorial service beginning at 12 pm., at the funeral home.  A luncheon will follow at a venue to be announced at the service.

Burial with the family will be at a later date.
