Donna L. Yakes, age 68, of Farmington Hills, passed away peacefully at Hutcheson Manor, early Monday Morning, April 8, 2024.

Donna was born in Livonia, MI, June 9, 1955, the daughter of the late Eve and Steven Dulka.

Donna lived the majority of her life in Farmington Hills, where she lovingly raised her family.  Donna was known for her passion for sewing and her exceptional skills as a homemaker. She poured her heart into creating a warm and inviting home for her loved ones. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren, cherishing every moment she had with them.  Every summer, Donna and her family made cherished memories at their vacation cabin in Temple, MI. The cabin, which has been in the family for many years, held a special place in Donna's heart, providing a retreat where she could relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Donna dedicated many years of her life to serving as the kitchen manager in the Farmington Hills City School district before retiring. Her hard work and dedication made a significant impact on the community she served.

One of Donna's annual highlights was attending the Kid Rock Cruise with her husband, Tom. She was a devoted fan of Kid Rock and cherished the opportunity to enjoy his music and connect with fellow fans during the cruise.

Donna will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family leave behind a legacy that will be cherished forever. May she rest in peace, knowing she was loved and appreciated by so many.

Donna is the loving wife 48 years to Thomas; beloved mother of Thomas C. (Nicole) and Heather Yakes (Eric Becker); cherished grandmother of Jacob and Tom; dearest sister of Steven, Mary, Tammy, Kevin, Brett and the late Denise.

It was Donna's wishes to be cremated and no services have been planned at this time.
