Donna Jean
Shelden
Jan 9, 1937 — Apr 29, 2025
Donna Shelden, a beacon of joy and warmth, left this world on April 29, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in Kalamazoo, MI, on January 9, 1937, Donna's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and endless adventures. She resided in Farmington Hills, MI, where her spirit continued to shine brightly until her final day.
A true lover of life, Donna had an insatiable passion for cozy mystery books and a penchant for collecting beautiful things. Her creativity knew no bounds, as she turned everyday moments into works of art that left a lasting impression on those around her. Donna had a unique gift for making people feel loved, a quality that endeared her to many and earned her a family of the heart.
Her family was small but mighty, a testament to the strength of her relationships and the depth of her love. Known for her feisty, funny, and delightful personality, Donna was always up for an adventure, often with a twinkle in her eye that spoke of mischief and joy. She had a special love for ice creams as big as her head, a sweet indulgence that brought smiles to her face and those around her.
Surviving Donna is her beloved husband, Richard Shelden, and her dear sister of the heart, Raymonda Gross, who both cherished every moment spent with her. Donna's kind, funny, strong-willed, and loving nature left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her including Agim Shabaj (Ariel) and Jennifer VanRiette (Mike Leach) and their respective families.
In lieu of a traditional funeral service, a celebration of Donna's life will be held in Ludington later this summer. It promises to be a gathering filled with laughter, stories, and perhaps a few giant ice creams in her honor. Until then, we hold her memory close, grateful for the light she brought into our lives. Rest in peace, dear Donna, and thank you for the adventures.
