Donald M. McKinnon, "Donny", age 34, of Northville, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, February 18, 2022.

He was born in Detroit, MI, on April 25, 1987, the son of the late Carol and Donald McKinnon.

Donny, as he was known by many, will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his wife and children whom he loved the most.  He was an avid golfer and hockey player, playing hockey in the area with his brother Kenneth.  Donny graduated from Northville High School in 2005 and then attended the University of Michigan.  While attending U of M, he received a Masters degree in Industrial and Operational Engineering, IOE.  He worked locally for CPC and Nichia in Novi but most recently started to work for a company in Delaware, mostly working from home to start.  After marrying his high school sweetheart in 2016, they were blessed with 3 beautiful children.  Donny will be remembered as being full of life and always being the smartest, kindest, and happiest person in the room.

Donny is the loving husband of Kimberly; beloved father of London, Apollo and Knightley; dearest brother of Kenneth (Ekaterina) and Amy Mullins (Steven); fondest grandson of Marilyn and Donald McKinnon; cherished nephew of Ann McGeorge (Dale), Paul LaChance (Sally), Steve LaChance (Anne), Cheri DeCaluwe (Paul) and the late David LaChance; brother-in-law of Laurie Castillo (Roger), Jessica Boloven (Steven Kazmirowski) and Danielle Wilseck (Zach); uncle to Isla, Soleil, Brooklyn, Sienna, Kendall, Delta, Brielle, Spencer, and Benjamin; cousin to Jacob, Logan, Elena, Maya, Bradley, Stephanie and Cole.

The McKinnon family will receive friends Tuesday, February 22, 2-8 pm at the funeral home.

A funeral service for Donny will be Wednesday, February 23, 11 am, First United Methodist Church Northville, 777 Eight Mile Rd, Northville.  Family and friends can begin to gather at the church beginning at 9:30 am.
