Don Yee, age 75, of West Bloomfield, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

Born on February 1, 1950, in Detroit, Don was the son of Jack King Yee and Tia Wong Yee. He graduated from Henry Ford High School and went on to earn a degree in Industrial Management from Lawrence Technological University.

After the passing of his father, Don stepped up to run the family business, Kwong Chow Noodle Company. Known for his strong work ethic, Don dedicated himself to growing the business and supporting his family. Later, never one to slow down, he embarked on a second successful career in real estate.

Don was the man everyone turned to when something needed fixing—whether it was a car, a household repair, or machinery at the factory. But above all, he was a man devoted to his family. He often put his own ambitions aside to support those he loved, especially his sons, Gary and Derek, and his grandchildren. Whether lending his real estate expertise or simply being there when needed, Don was always ready to help.

He is survived by his sons, Gary (Kathleen) Yee and Derek Yee; his beloved grandchildren, Landon and Aria Yee; his brother, Jack (MaryAnn) Yee; his sister, May Yee; and his niece and nephew, Lauren (Brian) Stieler and Jason (Meghan) Yee.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, May 12, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association .
