Obituary

Deborah Anne "Deb" Watson, of South Lyon, a cherished wife, mom, and grandma, passed into eternal life at home early Monday morning, February 5, 2024.  She had been in declining health since July of 2023.

Deb was born January 30, 1955, in Detroit, to the late Jackie and Patricia (Peppler) Pernaitis.  She attended North Farmington High School and spent her formative years in Farmington Hills.  Deb was hard-working and resourceful.  She lived in one of downtown Farmington's historical homes on Grand River and established "Deb's Crafts" around 1996 and eventually moved her business into the Village Mall until she closed the store in 2001.  Deb then transitioned into Real Estate and eventually into her own successful residential and commercial cleaning business as well as the setup and maintenance of commercial construction trailers.  Her health forced her to retire on July 19, 2023.

Deb's life was woven with laughter, love, and a contagious fun-loving spirit that touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.  Known for her infectious laughter and a love for dancing, Deb had a unique ability to infuse any gathering with joy and energy. Her fun-loving personality drew people to her, and she had a talent for turning ordinary moments into unforgettable celebrations.

Deb's love extended beyond her human companions to animals.  She was known as the "pet whisperer," possessing an uncanny ability to connect with animals in a way that was truly magical. Her compassion for all living creatures was evident in her efforts to make the world a better place for both people and pets alike.

In July 2023, Deb faced another diagnosis of cancer with courage and grace. Throughout her battle, she continued to inspire those around her with her resilience, maintaining her love for life and her infectious spirit until the end.

Surviving are her cherished husband of nearly 4 years, Douglas Burt; her loving daughter, Ammie (Armando Gonzolez-Valverde); beloved grandchildren, Zachary, Zander, Gavin, and Bee Childs; her sister, Melissa (James) Clark; nephews, Court, Linden and Garrett Clark; cousin, Bradley (Karen) Hugall; as well as a host of friends.

Family and friends may gather for visitation at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, downtown Farmington, on Thursday, February 8, from 3-8 pm.

Deb's funeral ceremony is planned for Friday afternoon, February 9, at 1:00 pm, also at Heeney-Sundquist.

Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.

While we mourn the loss of a remarkable woman, let us also remember the joy, laughter, and love that Deb shared with us all. May she rest in eternal peace, free from pain, surrounded by the love of those who have gone before her. Deb will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
