David Bryan Reed, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the age of 66.

David was born on July 5, 1959, in Detroit, the son of David and Donna (Judge) Reed.

David was a man of character—salty at times, humble at heart, feisty in spirit, and deeply devoted to those he loved. Family meant everything to him. He especially adored his son, Brandon and cherished his nieces and nephews with equal devotion.

He couragiously fought his battle with Pancreatic Cancer vigilantly for 6 years, showing the same dedication that marked his life's work and passions. For over 30 years, David worked as a Journeyman/CAD with Maxitrol, where his skill and dependability left a lasting mark.

David's 27 and a half years of Sobriety are a testimate to his strength, commitment and self-discipline.

David's interests painted a picture of a man who truly enjoyed life. He was a history buff with a strong respect for the military. He loved the outdoors, often tending to his backyard garden, and found joy in the simple peace of nature. His creative side came alive in the kitchen—he was an incredible baker of breads, cookies, and his famous carrot cake. He also loved smoking meats, making BBQ, and the sound of Cajun and banjo music. His humor and quick wit brought laughter to all who knew him.

David's legacy is one of love, resilience, and joy. He will be remembered for his humor, his dedication to family, his talents in the kitchen and garden, and his unwavering fight through life's challenges.

David is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; son, Brandon Reed; mother, Donna Dunning; sisters, Laura Bowman, Cori Reed and Julie (Brian Friel) Reed; brothers-in-law; Chuck Boughan, Steve Boughan, step-mother; Lindsay Reed; niece and nephews, Justina Reed and Steven Bowman, Justin, Pete and Dylan Boughan; great nieces and nephew, Kalli Reed-Saba, Riley Bowman and Immanuel Bowman; also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  David also had a large extended family of many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Sadly, David was preceded in death by his father, David Lee Reed.

In lieu of customary remembrances,  David's life will be celebrated at a later date with a Celebration of Life! Memorial tributes are suggested to the Pancreatic Cancer Society or by planting a tree in David's memory.
