David O.
Keller
Mar 1, 1937 — Jul 3, 2024
David Orville Keller was born on March 1, 1937, and moved to his Heavenly home on July 3, 2024.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Evelyn Keller, and sisters, Sharon Cox (Douglas) and Janice Prichard (Jerry). He is survived by his siblings, Virginia Elliott (Edward), John Keller (Sandra), and Joyce LaChance (Barry); wife, Mary Esther Keller; children, Stephen Keller (Amy) and Lisa Rehbine (Jeff); grandchildren Katherine Vogel (Justin), Anne Keller, Ashland Rehbine, Abigail Jane Boyakjon (Grigore), Lilah Rehbine; and great-grandchildren, Charlie Vogel and Ellie Vogel.
David graduated from Southfield High School in 1955. He attended Houghton College (New York) with his cousin and best friend, Bob Keller; Moody Bible Institute (Chicago, Illinois) with his sister Virginia and husband, Edward Elliott; and Fort Wayne Bible College (Indiana) where he met the love of his life, Mary Esther Lupton, from Dodge City, Kansas.
Having earned his Christian Education degree, he served in a few mid-west churches as Christian Ed Director. His ongoing commitment to the family business, O. Keller Tool Engineering in Livonia allowed him to serve as President until his retirement in 1997.
He helped provide leadership on the Highland Park Baptist Church trustee board, the Southfield Christian School board, the Girls and Boys Bible Clubs board and the Christian Businessmen's Committee.
Throughout his life, David enjoyed singing with the Moody and Highland Park Baptist Church choirs; using his photography skills to capture the beauty of nature; travelling around the USA, Bermuda, England, Scotland, Russia, and Israel; collecting and reading a library full of books; and in daily Bible study and prayer.
David sacrificially loved his family and will be greatly missed. His astute business sense, light-hearted smile, quirky humor, and consistent generosity left lasting blessings on the many people he served in his life.
Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of David's life on Tuesday, July 9, from 10 am until the 11 am Memorial Ceremony at Highland Park Baptist Church, 28600 Lahser Road, Southfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are kindly suggested to Highland Park Baptist Church or the Moody Bible Institute .
