Christopher, age 37, of Ann Arbor, passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2024.

How do we begin to say goodbye to a beloved son and brother? His time with us was short, but he lived with gusto. He loved life's adventures and the people he encountered along the way.

We enjoyed every moment spent with Chris, his humor and his persona. He had his good times and bad, his triumphs and defeats, but he always moved forward. Through a loving and caring environment from family and community, he became an extraordinary man.

He was an example to us of what can be: an eagle scout, drum captain, University of Michigan graduate and aerospace engineer. But more importantly, he was a loving person and a compassionate friend.

He triumphed over adversity in his short time with us, but there was no questioning his heart. Please help us say goodbye to our son, brother and friend, a man who will be deeply missed. Farewell, and Go Blue.

Christopher is the beloved son of Dr. Peter and Jody (Laidlaw) Schoeps; cherished brother of Patrick and Nicholas (Laura); dearest nephew to numerous aunts and uncles; and a loving friend to many.  Christopher was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rhea & Robert Laidlaw, and Rudolph & Margo Schoeps.

The Schoeps family will receive guests on Saturday, April 6, from 12-5 pm, at the funeral home.  No further services will be held at this time.
