Charles M.
Stimac
Apr 5, 1949 — May 22, 2023
Livonia
Charles Michael Stimac, age 74, passed away May 22, 2023 due to complications from his yearlong battle with lung cancer and COPD.
Chuck was born in Detroit, MI April 05, 1949 to Clements and Mary (Nicholls) Stimac. He graduated from St.Agatha High School in 1967. He married Judith K. Westmark on April 07, 1973.
Chuck started a Tool & Die apprenticeship in 1968 at Henry Ford Community College and graduated as a Journeyman in 1972. He worked at Ford Motor Company-Rouge Plant in Dearborn for 36 years, 1968-2004. His years were spent in the Stamping Plant, Frame Plant and finally as a Leader in the Tool & Die Plant before retiring.
Chuck was an avid boater, fisherman and hunter. He docked his Sea Ray at Humbug Marina for 26 years and fished Lake Erie starting in the early 1980's with his father-in-law. He also enjoyed his many trips to Ludington to salmon fish. He owned a hunting cabin in the Garden Peninsula with best friends from 1989-2022. Another enjoyable hobby was motorcycling with the Prairie Dogs. They had many memorable trips over the years. He played for the Northwest Catholic Softball League for several years with many friends he went to high school with. In 2015 after being a car enthusiast his whole life, he bought his dream car, a 2006 Ford Mustang GT. He joined the Mustang Club and enjoyed their outings, as well as car nights at Multi-Lakes Association in Commerce and Bakers in Milford.
Chuck was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He and his wife enjoyed their many trips up north over the years, especially spending time with dear high school friends every summer in Boyne and Oscoda. They did several group motorcycle trips to West Virginia, Arkansas, and the East Coast. They bowled on a league together for several years and were in an Adventure Club. Boating in the summer was a favorite pastime with family and friends. Of course, being parents to their son and grandparents to their granddaughter were their most cherished times together!
Chuck is survived by his devoted wife, Judy; his adoring granddaughter, Estella; his sister, Judith (Robert) LeVasseur; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Stimac, Patricia (Michael) Murphy, Cheryl (John) Baker, Kathleen (Johnny) McGill, Lori (Greg) MacDonnel, Jan (Jim) Baisden, Maricarmen Westmark, brother-in-law, David (Lynda) Westmark; and numerous cousins and friends. Sadly, Chuck is preceded in death by his son, Scott; nephew, Michael Murphy, Jr.; niece, Annette LeVasseur; brother, Richard Stimac; brothers-in-law, Bobby, Jeff and Gary Westmark; sister-in-law, Donna Westmark; parents, Clements and Mary Stimac; and in-laws, Robert and Jeannette Westmark.
