Obituary

Carolyn Sue Templin, born on April 10, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Berford and Theresa Young, passed away on June 28, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, joy, and kindness.

Carolyn's life story is one for the ages. She met the love of her life, Jamie, in the most unexpected way – at a McDonald's. While being ticketed for loitering, Carolyn spontaneously jumped into a car that Jamie was in, and from that moment, their love story unfolded like a Hollywood romance. They were married in 1969 at Christ the King Church in Detroit, marking the beginning of 55 wonderful years together.

Carolyn was known for her spirited nature, loving heart, and unwavering kindness. She embraced life with enthusiasm, finding joy in exercise, walking, and line dancing. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was an active member of her church community. Among her greatest joys was spending time with her granddaughter, Luna, often taking her to parks and creating cherished memories.

Carolyn had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special, and her circle of friends was vast. Each friend would claim to be her best, a testament to her genuine and inclusive nature. Always happy and full of life, Carolyn's presence was a source of light and warmth to all who knew her.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Jamie Templin; adored sons, Todd Templin and Adam (Daniela) Templin; adored granddaughter, Luna Carolyn Templin; and beloved siblings, Dianne (Dennis) Schram and Jackie (Larry) Woolbright. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Judy Rundle and Sharon Myers; and brothers-in-law, Art Rundle and Lon Myers.

The Templin family will welcome guests on Friday, July 5, from 2-9 PM, with a rosary service at 7 PM, at the funeral home. A funeral mass to celebrate Carolyn's life will held on July 6, 10 AM (in state at 9:30 am), at Our Lady of Sorrows, 23815 Power Rd., Farmington.

Donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society to further honor Carolyn's life.
