Carol "Carl"
Tanase, D.D.S.
Jan 1, 1945 — Nov 29, 2024
West Bloomfield
Dr. Carol Tanase passed away on November 29th, 2024, after a long illness in the presence of the his devoted wife of 35 years, the woman he called his soulmate, Constanta Tanase. Their daughter, Joanne Tanase, and her husband, Thomas Czech, were also there to witness his last moments.
Carol was born January 1st, 1945, in Dichiseni, Romania, the oldest son of Ion and Rada Tanase. After pursuing his dental degree at the University of Iaşi and later specializing in oral and maxillofacial surgery, he spent his lifetime dedicated his profession and to teaching.
He began his career as an oral surgeon in the hospitals of Romania while also teaching at Arad University and various others universities around the country. After immigrating and re-earning his degree in dentistry from New York University, he transitioned to dental practice in the United States. His expertise and unwavering commitment left a lasting impact on patients and colleagues alike.
Carol's devotion to his work was matched only by his love for the outdoors. Michigan became his second home where he cherished the tranquility of hunting and fishing. He was an avid gardener and could be found in his garden throughout the year.
While his work often took center stage, his family remembers that he tried to be a good husband and father who lived his life with purpose and determination.
Please keep Carol in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
