Carol V.
Rehbine
Feb 13, 1944 — Aug 20, 2022
Carol Viola Rehbine joined her Lord and Savior the morning of August 20, 2022.
She was born to Ashland and Ruth Hunt of Adrian, Michigan on February 13, 1944, and married Glenn Howard Rehbine in 1965. She is survived by her sisters, Rosalyn Tortorella, Laurie Franzese, and Sylvia Hassenzahl, as well as three children and eight grandchildren: Steven (Tiffanie) Rehbine of Nolensville, TN, Jeffrey (Lisa) Rehbine of Milford, MI, and Aimee (Timothy) Mouw of Amarillo, TX. Carol was preceded in death by her brother Glen Hunt, and her husband, Glenn in 2019.
Carol grew up on an active farm doing chores, exploring the countryside on her bicycle, and cheering at Onsted High School. She enjoyed returning to her home community over the years for class reunions with longtime friends. After graduating, she completed a secretarial training program and landed a job with Standard Oil Company in Detroit. She and Glenn settled in Farmington Hills, raising three children in their ranch house surrounded by a retired apple orchard. She returned to work when her children reached middle school as a sales clerk at Crowley's and Jacobson's Department Stores, and as a secretary at Highland Park Baptist Church, where she remained a member for over 40 years.
Carol had an eye for fashion and enjoyed keeping a finely decorated home. She loved celebrating holidays, listening to music, and watching birds. She relished time outdoors in every season, tending her landscaping and flowers, and driving in her convertible with Glenn to see friends and family. Carol was able to connect with many in her final days. She died peacefully as the sun rose in her room at her assisted living with her fireplace glowing and birds singing to her after a 5 year battle with cancer.
A memorial service date will be forthcoming.
