Carol Joyce Kain, age 89, passed away peacefully at home, August 16, 2022.

She was born in Detroit, MI, April 24, 1933, the daughter of the late Tyyne and Theodore Gustafson.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ernest "Bud" Kain and her grandson, Scott.

She is the loving mother of Don (Cindy), Dale (Kathy) and Glen (Laura); beloved grandmother of Amanda (Jared), Nathan (Erika), Angela (Jared), Evan (Christiana), Rachael (Josh), Julia (Mitch), Eliza and Lydia; dearest great grandmother of Oliver and Harper.

Carol graduated from Cooley High School and in her early years, worked for Michigan Bell then on to Crane Studios as a color artist.  After starting her family, she chose to stay home and raise her three boys.

She was an avid golfer.  Carol enjoyed the game with girlfriends and her husband, too.  She also enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida with Bud.

The Kain family will receive guests Sunday, August 21, 2-8 pm at the funeral home.

A funeral service celebrating Carol's life will be Monday, August 22, 11 am, at the funeral home.

Carol will be laid to rest next to her husband Bud at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, immediately following the service.
