Carmen Elizabeth Alford, age 61, Our dearest wife, mother, grandma, aunt, and friend, passed away June 10, 2023.

Carmen was born October 28, 1961, in Detroit Michigan, the daughter of the late Charles and late Maude (MacDonald) Lilly.

Carmen was known for being feisty but kindhearted, when necessary, stern but flexible when needed, and frugal in spending money and showing her love, but was also generous and loving over time once she let her guard down. She loved her grandchildren and family. Her hobbies were decorating, planting flowers, shopping, traveling, reading, and watching movies. She went to graduate school where she received her master's degree.

Carmen is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey Alford; beloved grandchildren, Kameryn Stevens and Tristan Stevens; dear siblings, Leonard Lilly, Leatrice Cato, and Regina (Timothy) Lee. She is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Darrin Cato.

The Alford family will welcome guests on Sunday, June 18th, from 1pm – 2:30 pm, at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home.
