Carmella J.
Bonnici
Aug 24, 1930 — Aug 28, 2022
Carmella J. "Nan", of Farmington Hills, entered eternal life late Sunday evening, August 28, 2022. She just celebrated her 92nd birthday on the 24th of August.
Nan was born in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Raphel and Mary (Aquilina) Bonnici. She enjoyed a prosperous career with Detroit Edison as a human resource supervisor for many years.
Nan was a "volunteer extraordinaire" helping those in need of her assistance in her Corktown community. She was very involved in and devoted to her church, St. Boniface-St. Vincent Catholic Community in Detroit. Nan served her family's chocolate shop in downtown Northville where customers loved her for over 20 years. She leaves behind a legacy of family, friendships and countless people who loved her sunny disposition. She will be remembered by so many who were blessed enough to be related to her as one of the best people ever known. May her beautiful soul rest in peace.
Nan is the loving sister of Rita Acho (Ronald); dearest aunt to 13 nieces and nephews, 28 great-nieces and nephews, and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leon Bonnici (the late Kathleen), and sisters, Stella Grima (the late John) and Jenny Bonnici.
Friends and family may gather for visitation at Heeney-Sundquist on Wednesday, August 31st, from 3-8 pm, with a rosary at 7 pm.
Nan's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday morning, September 1st, at 10 am (in state 9:30 am), Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23815 Power Rd, Farmington.
Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Most Holy Trinity Parish , Detroit.
Kindly keep nan and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
