Carl A.
Pincheck
Dec 17, 1939 — Sep 9, 2024
Carl, of Farmington Hills, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed into eternal life with loved ones by his side at Corewell Health, Farmington Hills, on Monday afternoon, September 9, 2024. He was 84 years old.
Born on December 17, 1939, in Detroit, to the late Charles and Martha (Walney) Pincheck, Carl led a life of dedication, hard work, and quiet strength.
Carl was a proud graduate of Detroit's Cooley High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in engineering from Lawrence Technological University in 1968. His career at Ford Motor Company spanned 31 years, where he applied his engineering expertise with pride and precision. He retired from Ford in the late 1990s after a long and prosperous career, leaving a legacy of innovation and dedication.
A devout Catholic, Carl's faith was a central part of his life. He was a longtime member of St. Priscilla Church in Livonia, where he served faithfully as a Eucharistic minister. Along with his first wife, Mary, Carl led Marriage Encounter Weekend sessions, helping couples strengthen their bonds through the teachings of their faith.
Carl married Mary in 1962, and together they built a life filled with love and devotion until her passing on February 29, 2012. In 2018, Carl found love once more, marrying his second wife, Margaret (Brown), on August 25. Carl's love for his family and his commitment to his faith were cornerstones of his life.
A hardworking and skilled man, Carl enjoyed building and creating with his hands. He was quiet and reserved but had a sharp wit that could make his children laugh. He was a true American patriot who cherished his country and held strong conservative values.
In his youth, Carl had a love of classical music, and later in life, he found joy on the golf course. One of his greatest passions was the Franklin Cider Mill, and at one point, he even considered purchasing it—a testament to his admiration of that wonderful fall tradition!
In addition to his wife, Margaret, Carl is survived by his children, Eddie (Lori), Jackie (Glenn) Hurst, Terriann Buchanan, and Michael (Kim); two step-daughters, Amy and Jenny Sherman; and grandchildren, Nicole Nicholls, Jordan (Vincent) Tomberlin, Ryan (Alyxus) Hurst, Tabitha Hurst, Ashley (Nate Yenor) Buchanan, Brianna Buchanan, Ian Buchanan, Carson Pincheck and Claire Pincheck. In addition to his wife, Mary, Carl was preceded in death by his brother, Wes (Barb) Pincheck.
Family and friends may gather at Heeney-Sundquist for visitation on Monday, September 16, from 2-8 pm.
Carl's funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday morning, September 17, at 10:00 am (in state 9:30 am) at St. Priscilla Catholic Church, 19120 Purlingbrook Road, Livonia. A luncheon in the parish hall will be served immediately following mass. All are welcome.
Private interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
Memorial tributes are kindly suggested to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
Carl will be remembered for his faith, his dedication, his quiet humor, and his love for his family. May he rest in peace.
