Obituary

Brian Austin Holiday, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly, his loving heart finally at rest. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and faithful servant of the Lord, Brian lived a life defined by love, strength, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.

Born on July 13, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, Brian carried within him the values that would guide his life—deep faith, a tireless work ethic, and a genuine love for others.

At the center of Brian's world was his beloved wife of 52 years, Noreen Louise Holiday (Riddell). Their love story began in a junior high youth group, grew through their high school years, and blossomed into a lifelong marriage shortly after graduation. Through every season of life—the highest of highs and the lowest of lows—their love never wavered. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, loyalty, and a deep, abiding commitment to one another.

Brian was a proud and loving father and grandfather. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. His face would light up the moment they entered the room, and the memories they created together are truly countless and priceless.

A man of deep and abiding faith, Brian loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart. His relationship with his Savior was personal and steadfast, shaping the way he lived, loved, and served others. If Brian knew you, he was praying for you. He found joy in encouraging those around him and quietly lifting others up in prayer.

Brian's outgoing demeanor and warm, genuine smile made it easy for him to connect with people from all walks of life. He had a natural gift for making others feel welcomed and valued—never meeting a stranger, only friends he had yet to know.

He dedicated 35 years of loyal service to Ford Motor Company, beginning on the assembly line and advancing into skilled trades. He took great pride in his work, earning an associate's degree from Henry Ford Community College along with numerous vocational certifications. His dedication and perseverance were a reflection of his character.

Following his retirement in 2008, Brian began a second career and lifelong dream job as a car salesman, where his passion and personality truly shined. He quickly became one of the top salesmen in the area, known for his honesty, integrity, and exceptional care for his customers. To Brian, it was never just about selling a car—it was about building relationships and helping people. One of Brian's life verses was Proverbs 11:1-3 which says, "God hates cheating in the marketplace; he loves it when business is aboveboard; the stuck up fall flat on their faces, but down-to-earth people stand firm. The integrity of the honest keeps them on track; the deviousness of crooks brings them to ruin."  He used this verse to mold himself into a God-honoring salesman who gave all of the credit of his success back to his Savior, Lord Jesus.

Cars were more than a profession—they were a lifelong passion. Brian loved working on vehicles, "souping them up," taking them for a drive, and admiring their craftsmanship and detail. He also found great joy in working with his hands—whether through home renovations, building model cars, or simply lending a helping hand whenever it was needed. If something needed fixing, Brian was the one you called.

Strong in spirit and steady in heart, Brian faced life with determination and quiet resilience. He lived with purpose, always putting his family first and leading by example through both his faith and his actions.

Brian's life was a gift to all who knew him—a life filled with love, faith, hard work, and devotion. His passing was sudden and deeply heartbreaking, leaving a space in the hearts of his family and friends that can never be filled. And yet, in the midst of that sorrow, there is comfort in knowing that the faith he carried so faithfully throughout his life has now become sight.

The man who spent his days loving the Lord, praying for others, and caring so deeply for his family has been welcomed home into eternal peace. Though we were not ready to say goodbye, heaven was ready to receive him.

His love remains in every memory, every lesson, and every life he touched. And while he may be gone from our sight, he will never be gone from our hearts.

Brian is survived by his loving wife, Noreen Louise Holiday (Riddell); his children, Scott (Erica) Holiday, Matthew (Grace) Holiday, and Erin (Richard) Favor; his cherished grandchildren, Grant and Camden Holiday; Layla Kemp, Joshua, Caleb, and Elisha Holiday; and Madeline, Evangeline, Abigail, and Michaela Favor; and his brothers, Allen and Timothy Holiday.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Oliver Holiday and Shirley Ann Holiday (Weber); and his brothers, Paul, Dale, and Wayne Holiday.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 7, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, 23720 Farmington Road, Farmington, Michigan 48336.
