Barbara, most recently of the Rose Senior Community in Novi, and longtime resident of Coconut Creek, FL, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Ascension Providence Hospital, Novi.  She was 80 years old and in declining health for several weeks.

Barbara was born in Chicago, on April 21, 1943, to the late Howard and Hazel (Schultz) Johannsen.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Brian, on February 20, 2021.

Barbara, an administrator within the auto industry by profession, was the former owner, along with her husband, Brian, of the downtown Farmington business, Uniquely Yours, in the late 1980's and early 1990's.

Barbara was a remarkable woman who embodied a combination of elegance, independence, creativity, style, and a passion for arts and crafts. She was a true artist in many aspects of her life and had a unique and inspiring story to share. Whether through her profession, artistic pursuits, or sense of style, she served as a source of inspiration for others. Barbara truly was the embodiment of creativity and grace.  May her kind and generous soul rest in peace.

Surviving are her devoted son, Kevin (Katie) Stewart, and cherished grandchildren, Ian and Alison.

Barbara's interment is planned for a future date near her home in Florida.
