Audrey E. Akins, age 88, of Commerce, formerly of Farmington, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022.

She was born January 29, 1934, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Horace and Marjorie (Sole) Youles.

Beloved mother of Steven (Mary) Akins, Sandra (James) Hyek and the late Mark Akins (d.1983); loving grandma of Michael DeHaan, Jeffrey (Jessica) DeHaan, Emily (Ryan) Schoenberg, Melissa (Aaron) Schroder, Priscilla (Parker) Stinar, Mark (Jessica) Akins, Alexandria (Dillon) Kestner, and Cassandra (Brett) Allen;  and great grandma of Nicholas, Megan, Bailey, Morgan, Ella, Ethan, Nolan, Holly, Jack, Luke, Jacob, Vivian, Elise, Claire, Faye, and Landen.  Sadly, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas (d. 2007).

The Akins family will receive guests on Monday, July 25 ^th , from 5-8 pm, at the funeral home.

A funeral service is planned for Tuesday, July 26 ^th , 11 am, also at the funeral home.

Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Farmington.

Memorial tributes are suggested to the Michigan Humane Society .
