Alice L. Hixson, 71, of Farmington Hills, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Alice was born April 11, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of John and Mary Lou
(Lauer) Boyle. She married Charles A. Hixson, Jr. on October 18, 1980, beginning nearly 46
years of marriage and a life centered around the thing that mattered most to them both:
family.

Warm, nurturing, energetic, and full of life, Alice had a beautiful smile and a spirit that drew
people to her. She loved music, singing karaoke, practicing yoga, and spending time with
the people she loved. Always willing to try something new, Alice embraced life with an
enthusiasm and warmth that made things more fun simply because she was there.
Family was at the center of Alice's life. She and Chuck built a close and loving family rooted
in faith, traditions, and time spent together. She was a deeply involved and devoted mother
to Taylor and Brock—always nurturing, encouraging, and present in their lives. Alice had a
special gift for making holidays and celebrations memorable and understood that
traditions were about more than the occasion itself; they were a way of keeping the people
she loved close.

Alice also believed strongly in living a healthy and active life. A longtime fitness and yoga
instructor, she found great joy in helping others become stronger, healthier, and more
confident. She especially enjoyed her work at Fox Run Retirement Community, where she
had the opportunity to encourage and inspire others to remain active and embrace life at
every age.

Alice will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her warmth and energy, her devotion to
her family and faith, and the enthusiasm with which she embraced life. She was always
willing to join in, try something new, sing another song, or find a reason to bring everyone
together. The traditions she created and the love she poured into her family will continue
through the people who loved her.

Alice is survived by her loving husband, Charles A. Hixson, Jr.; daughter, Taylor (Justin)
McAvoy; son, Brock (Christina) Hixson; and sisters, Jeannie Mitisek, Barbara Boyle, and
Eileen (Tim) Paskert.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., with gathering
beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23615 Power Road,
Farmington, MI 48336.

A Celebration of Life open house will follow from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00
p.m. at Farmington Brewing Company, 33336 Grand River Ave, Farmington, MI 48336.
