age 85, of Franklin, Michigan died on January 22, 2013 from congestive heart failure.
Since May 2011, she had been a resident of Sunrise Senior Living at North Farmington Hills. Shirley was born in November 1927 in Detroit of parents Emil and Mildred Loffman.
She grew up in Detroit and later obtained a teaching degree from Wayne State University. She taught kindergarten for nine years.
She married Louis Schnaufer in November 1958, and they had four children, Mark Schnaufer, Heidi Reinker, Eric Schnaufer, and Wendi Schnaufer, all of whom survive her. She was a very loving, generous, and devoted mother to all four of them, and a wonderful grandmother to her two grandsons, Michael and Paul Reinker. She also is survived by her niece Carol Borich, her husband Don, and their son Dr. Shawn Borich. The centers of Shirley's life were her family and the Franklin Community Church.
Visitation with family will be held beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2013, in the parlor of the Franklin Community Church, 26425 Wellington, Franklin, MI 48025.
There will be a memorial service at the Church at 11 a.m. with a reception
there following the service.
